The first two Certificates of Merit to be awarded to members of the Junior Branch of Save The Children Club were given to Bryne Gregory, Sheehan Street, and Vicki Nolan, Sponge Bay, by Save The Children president Mrs M. C. Chrisp. The certificates are awarded for service to the club and entail a lot of hard work. Money for the fund is raised from things collected such as stamps, aluminium milk bottle tops, tea coupons, jungle juice packets, etc. Points are given for a certain amount of items collected, and also for introducing new members. When 10 points have been earned, a certificate is presented. Great work!
