Keeping Safe

The January theme for the Health" Department's Home Safety Year Campaign (which is from June 1972 through to May 1973), is Holiday Safety. The pleasure of a family holiday can be spoilt by sunburn or, worse still, come to a tragic ending, if a drowning occurs. A little care and common sense can obviate both these occurrences and, if you followed the advice from the department given in last month's edition, your holidays should be trouble free.

Keep tabs on the sun. Bad sunburn and a peeling body is no fun back at work.

Surf life-savers, like these men shown at practice, do a great job. If everyone used their gumption and common sense when it came to swimming at the beach, there would be a very much lesser number of people to be rescued. And that would mean a lot less heartache for many families! Keep Your holiday happy.
