The Very Top Dog
Bruce, an eleven-monthold dog, and his owner, Gary Brennan, of Feilding, won the final run-off at the Poverty Bay Charity Dog Trial Club s seventh contest. The large crowd was treated to a superb display by the pair, both showing the ultimate in sheep control.

The open section was won by Mr Jim English, with Sue. Mrs E. Aylward presented the trophies and prizes.

Bing Lincoln gained most points for a competitor, 25 years and under
Mrs H. Alder and Lark were runners-up in the ladies' event
Charlie Anderton and Dick had some stroppy sheep to contend with.
The judge was Mr Louis Gallien, of Porongahau.
