Cherry Mason, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. A. Mason, Childers Road, is now working in Auckland. Cherry, a receptionist in Gisborne, is now head typist for a real estate firm.

Mr Trevor Davey, vice-president of the Poverty Bay centre, was recently elected to the National executive of the New Zealand Red Cross. This is the first time for 15 years that this centre has been represented at national level.

Mr Athol Hutton, general manager of Common Shelton & Co., has been appointed general manager of the parent company, the Hawke's Bay Farmers Co-operative Association Ltd. He will move to Hawke's Bay and take up his new appointment in January.

Nigel Oldham, son of Mr and Mrs Ralph Oldham, formerly of Centennial Crescent, and now of Takapuna, has done very well for a young soccer player. He plays now for Birkenhead United's seventh North team. The team has played without a single loss this past season, winning 13 games and drawing two. Nigel was top scorer for the team, shooting 34 goals during the year.

Seven dancers from Gisborne's "Sun City Squares" Square Dance Club attended the seventh National Square Dance Convention, which was held in Christchurch, over Labour weekend. A great time was had by the dancers who are, from left, Tim Atkinson, Jan Irving, Philip Hanlen, Lyn Grantham, Reay Mullooly, Jan Mullooly and Don Brown.
