Chewing up the Miles Cheaply
Astounding results were returned in the Gisborne Car Club's economy run, for the Keith Mullooly trophy. The run of 103.6 miles, over a round trip to Motu and back, was won by Hans Kwak in a Datsun 1200, for the miles per gallon section, and by Keith Redstone in a Triumph 2000, for the overall ton miles per gallon section. The Datsun did 62.788 mpg and the Triumph did 64.365 ton mpg. A feature of this year's trial was the number of cars entered by Gisborne dealers. Those who entered cars were Redstone Motors, Sheridan-Owen Motors, | Bloggs, H. S. Motors, Ormonds Motors and Allen Brothers and Johnstone.
