Good Quality

The standard of lambs in the A. & P. Association's export lamb competition was higher than had been for some years past. The hook judge, Mr W. Morley, also said the lambs were of good weight, and this was all the better as far as the English market was concerned.

Winner of the P.B. Licensed Victuallers' cup and the Nelsons Ltd Challenge trophy was Mr Derek McCartney, of Drumherriff Farm. The trophies were presented by Mr M. Henchliff, Wellington (right), manager of W. & R. Fletcher Ltd. They are pictured with the prizewinning carcasses which took the P.B. & East Coast District N.Z. Meat Producers' Board award for three prime lambs bred for export.

Mr R. A. Atkins of the Waitaria Partnership, which won the Graham and Tollerton cup.

The three carcasses which won, for Pakarae Station, the Class No.2, Three Lambs suitable for the English market, not exceeding 361bs.
