Here and there
For The Last Time
The Te Hapara Anglican Guild met for the last time in the Hall of the Church of the Resurrection, in Gook Street, on October 10. The Church and hall are to be moved to the other parish church, St Mark's, in Elgin, so this was the ladies' last meeting on that site.
Top Prize
Members of the guild in front of the church. At left are Mesdames P. Shortridge (president), A. MacDiarmid (vice-president), B. Openshaw (secretary), D. Worthington (treasurer) and E. Sweet (assistant treasurer).
Three foundation members of the guild present at this last meeting were, from left, Mesdames L. Moore, W. Short and V. E. Hicks.
Mrs Carolyn Dixon waltzed off with the top prize for wig styling at the New Zealand National Hairdressing Championships, held in Wellington. She won the Rod Trem-bath cup, a very handsome trophy, and she is shown with it here.
