Awards Presented

Service Day

Camp Badge Day

A Camp Badge Training Day was held at the Showgrounds recently, with Guides from Wairoa, Gisborne and Ruatoria taking part.

At the Girl Guides' Annual General Meeting, five women were presented with awards for outstanding service to the movement, and these were presented by the Executive Director of New Zealand Guides, Miss Mary Hopkirk. From left, Miss Hopkirk, Mrs Jean Adams (long service award), and Mesdames Murial Cooper, Edith Goodwin, Margaret Sefton and Muriel Mitchell (good service awards).

As part of their Service to Churches Day, Guides and Brownies in the district cleaned up weeds and tidied gardens around various church buildings in Gisborne. At St Paul's, in Kaiti, this group had the situation well under control. From "left, in front, Keryn and Christine McCullough, Anne Musgrave, Patricia Evans, Judy Huberts, Desiree Edwards and Karen Notting. Up at back are Carol Burton, Sharon Smith, Wendy Andrew, Wendy Notting, Karen Scott, Helen Stannard, Diane Flavell, Mrs Joan Stannard and Lynne McCullough.
