Finland To Gisborne

Now, with close on 20,000,000 others in the world, Gisborne people can become sauna addicts. The Sauna Centre, on the corner of Ormond and Hospital Roads, opened recently. The sauna (heat bath) is built of Canadian cedarwood and has a dry heat temperature of up to 160 degrees F. Of Finnish origin, the sauna causes sweating which cleanses the body and skin from inside out. The alternating cold shower cleanses off the sweat, a return to the sauna bringing more out. These alternating actions tone up the body, producing a great sense of well-being.

but, after the procedure is ended, the sense of well-being more than compensates.

A finishing touch (pardon the pun) is the rubdown, if required, by Doug Sayer. This really completes a sauna.
