A seminar on the plan for Church union was held in Gisborne, recently. Twenty-five representatives of the five negotiating churches (viz., Church of Christ, Anglican, Congregational, Methodist and Presbyterian), took part in the clergy seminar. The vote for union will take place later this year. Seated in front are, from left, Rev. R. Weeks, Bishop Reeves, Rev. M. Olds, Canon M. Cameron (seminar leader), Rev. C. Clark (chairman of joint council for Church extension), and Archdeacon A. R. H. Morris.

The girls of 4 Gen. B of the Girls' High School ran a very successful refreshment stall on the school sports day. In fact they raised over $43, which they presented to the I.H.C. in Albert Street. Jocelyn Tautau, class captain, hands over the cheque to I.H.C. matron, Mrs Min Sutton. At the back of them is Form mistress, Mrs M. Rawlings.
