Vice-Regal Farewell Visit

The Governor-General, Sir Arthur Porritt, and Lady Porritt came to Gisborne on a short farewell visit, prior to Sir Arthur's return to England, after completing his term of office, later this year.

The visit included a luncheon at the Archery Club Hall and a drive along Gladstone Road before leaving for Whakatane.
