Lead Me To Fiji

Travel is the thing more and more these days and a "Travel to Fiji" promotion was staged by Common Shelton, and Ellmers and Skeet in Common Shelton's fashion department. Mr Bill Raikuna (the Fijian manager of the New Zealand Fiji Visitors' Bureau in Auckland) dressed in Fijian costume and performed kava ceremonies. Information was dispensed to intending tourists, and fashion parades, for those who wanted the right thing to wear on a Fijian trip, were held.

A Tanoa Bowl, used for the kava ceremony, was presented to the city and accepted by the Mayor. From left, Nick White (Trans Tours), Bill Raikuna, Public Relations Officer Allan O'Donnell, Mayor Harry Barker and Ellmers and Skeet manager Roger Pilbrow.

What's known as the "I've never tasted anything like this before" reaction.
