Gerald Fuller cracked the big time competition when he took the New South Wales Rifle Association trophy. This was the trophy for the fifth match in the Australian Queen's Prize shoot. Gerald shot a 49 to win from 12 others on 48.

Mrs Jill Stewart of Salon Remonde returned recently from a summer school seminar, at the University of Sydney, with a certificate earned during a four-day course in updating hairdressing methods and salon management. She is pictured here, with her framed certificate.

Mr Jack Flowerday (left), pictured with Mr Bob Sloane, has taken up his position as new secretary to the R.S.A. Mr Flowerday has just retired from the Regular Army and came straight to Gisborne to take up his duties.

Susan Russell, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. J. Russell, Muir Street, graduated with honours, recently, from the Wellington Dental College. She has taken up her first position as dental nurse at the Yendarra School in Auckland.

Mark McGuinness, a former pupil of Edmund Campion College, is the first winner of the Blackpool Scholarship. The scholarship, of $100 a year for three years, is provided from a fund of $5000, subscribed by the personnel of the Hmnzs Blackpool to mark its memorable associations with this city, Mark, who was Dux of his college two years in succession and prominent in all sports, has gone to Canterbury University.
