Mr Bob Cres-well, Matthew Road, has left to join Phil Baker's climbing team in the Argentine Andies, in South America. This trans-Andean party have been climbing the Pillars of Paine, in Pategonia, for the past two to three months. Mr Creswell flew via Tahiti and Easter Island, for Valparaiso, and was to join the group from there.

The Minister of Transport was guest speaker at a dinner function organised by the Gis-borne West Rotary Club. All aspects of the Minister's portfolio were discussed with him, after which questions were answered. Gordon, and Mayor Harry Barker.

Bruce Donnelly, son of Mr and Mrs E. Donnelly, Ormond Road, has left the skies, for the moment, to take an instructor's course at Wigram. He celebrated his last day as a pilot for the present, by making a run in a Skyhawk jet over the city, from the Air Force base at Ohakea.
