New Zealand Champion

Richard Clarke, Asquith Street, took three out of four titles at the recent New Zealand Croquet Championships, held in Nelson. Richard won the championship doubles with Tony Stephens of Dannevirke (trophy at left), the handicap singles on a handicap of minus two (centre), and the open championship singles (right). In the 60 years of New Zealand championship play this feat has been successfully completed only six times.
