Our Cover

Anita Lam, 19, the winner of the Miss Gisborne Beach Girl Contest (see pages 20 to 23) is featured on our cover this month. Anita, who is attending college in Hawaii, where she is also promoting Polynesian art and culture, has as her interests surfing (who wouldn't, in Honolulu?), and sewing, fashions and modelling. The picture was taken at the Teal Motor Lodge swimming pool, Gladstone Road. (See pool's feature on pages 14 and 15.)

Back Cover. Thoughts of next month's power boat race prompted this picture. Yellow boat and white wake against the brightness of Poverty Bay and Young Nick's Head make a most attractive picture.
