Rare Works For Sale

An auction of rare paintings, water colours, books and silver was conducted by Barwick's Auction Mart just before Christmas. The art works came from the collection of the English collector and authority, Stanhope Shelton, Esq. and are all the works of accomplished painters of the 18th and 19th century.

Rarest in the collection was this pencil sketch by John Constable (1776-1837), which was drawn towards the end of his life.

This 20 inch Dresden vase with lid was made by Wolfsohn, just after 1880.

This book was printed in London in 1667 and contains 325 pages.
