Terrific Success
Crowds Turn Out For Xmas Parade
Gisborne's first Christmas Parade was held on the morning of Saturday, November 27, and was a resounding success. Star attraction of the parade, of course, was Daddy Christmas himself, but all the other floats were not far behind in drawing attention from the wide-eyed children lining the streets.
Historic, modern and nursery rhyme themes were all represented in the float line-up.

The Sandown Park Cadets were among the marching teams taking part in the parade.
The N.Z. P.O. float showed Little Miss Muffet, complete with spider.
"Tiger" and "Bear" got around on a "double" bike from Mac's Cycles.
Humpty Dumpty managed to stay on the wall, for the whole of the parade, on the Turanga Lions Club float.
