High on Kaiti Hill stands this magnificent statue of Captain James Cook. Seven miles across Poverty Bay is Young Nick's Head, while prominent in the foreground is the Cook memorial plaque.

Back Cover. Overlooking Horseshoe Bay and Hicks' Bay, up at East Cape, are the beautifully situated Hicks' Bay Motels. The East Cape area is a very pleasant one in which to spend a holiday, with swimming, fishing, tramping around, and just doing nothing, being some of the "get-away-from-it-all" attractions.
