Go, Go, Go!
The Gisborne Car Club recently held a Speed Weekend, consisting of a quarter-mile sprint at the 'Willows,' and a hill climb at the new venue, Lake Road, Patutahi.
A highlight of the sprints was the appearance of Robbie Booth, driving his Lotus 22 Formula Ford racing car. He created a new record for the quarter mile, with a time of 13.75 secs, the fastest time ever.
Frank Weil's Fiat 124 came first in the l500-2G00cc standard class.
Trevor Barker recorded the second fastest time of the day in his modified Cortina with a time of 16.7 sees.
Rod Husband, in a modified Escort, slips and slides his way up the hill climb to record the fastest time of the day (1 min, 7.4 sees).
