Grace And Strength

The ability to combine grace and strength, particularly in the ankles, makes a good skater. There appear to be plenty of youngsters, especially, in that category if the Gisborne Skating Club's championships were anything to go by this year. The judges had a very difficult task sorting out the winners in the championships which took place on Saturday, November 20.

Winner of the Senior Open Freestyle event was Bill Hancock.

Elizabeth Forrest took second place in the event.

Third placegetter in the Senior Open Freestyle was Johan Gillies.

Winner of both the Junior Open Freestyle and the Junior Open Figures was Lynda Scott of Hawkes Bay
