Unique Attraction

Mini-Land Planned

A Mini-Land project, attracting both tourists and local people is planned by Greater Gisborne. The idea is to feature historic houses and public buildings of New Zealand in a model town area. For example, places like our own Museum Cottage, the Treaty House at Waitangi, and Wellington's Parliament Buildings could be exhibited. As far as can be ascertained there are only three other Mini-Lands in the world, one of which is in Holland and called Madurodam. The sort of thing envisaged can be seen in the pictures below, which come from Mr J. T. Hill who visited Madurodam on his trip overseas.
