Mr and Mrs J. A. Smith, of Valley Road, who celebrated their silver wedding anniversary on January 28 with a party at the new Ambulance Hall in Palmerston Road. Kandid

Sister Mavis Wood, who was recently ordained in Wellington as a deaconess in the Presbyterian Church. A pupil of Gisborne Intermediate and High schools, she was on the staff of the N.Z. Insurance Co. before leaving for Dunedin, where she studied for three years to gain her diploma. Kandid

Mr P. B. Meredith, of Aberdeen Road, whose death occurred recently. Mr Meredith was a veteran of the N.Z.Signallers in the First World War, and in more recent years was a well-known local bowler. He spent his working life in the Post and Telegraph Department, and retired as mailroom supervisor. The picture above was taken in the Kahutia B.C. clubhouse in 1954, when he was president of the club. Kandid
