Advice has been received by the City Council that the National Roads Board has agreed to a Subsidy of £3 for £2 for bridge renewal work in the city. It is estimated that Gisborne will be better off by approximately £15,000 on rebuilding the William Pettie bridge, and £50,000 on the bridge renewal plan.
