Parish Programme

Children of the Matawhero Presbyterian parish, which includes Rere, Wharekopai, Hangaroa and Tahanga, gathered at the historic Matawhero Church for a holiday programme in the first week of the vacation. Group singing was followed by entertainment for the very young. The older children were given a talk and shown slides of Vietnam by Mrs Eccles-Smith, and after this devoted some of their time to making toys to send to, and copper work to sell for, the Save The Children Hospital in Vietnam.
