After being all-square going to the twelfth, the unfortunate B. J. Jamieson of Dannevirke went out of bounds on that hole, and again on the eighteenth, thus giving the decision in this year's Poverty Bay Open Tournament to Eric Gordon, making him a four-time winner of the event. Good steady golf was played by both contenders and a large gallery followed the match with much interest.
