After deciding New Zealand had more advantages than most other countries of the world, and to get away from the rat race and pollution of Vancouver, David and Pat Woodward came to Gisborne to settle. David, who is now an accountant with Story and Lomas, and Pat are pictured with their children Sarah (6), Simon (2½), and Kevin (9).

Head teacher at the Gisborne Free Kindergarten for the past two years, Miss Diane Benton has left to go on an extended working tour of England and the Continent. Prior to her departure she was entertained to dinner at the Sandown Park Hotel by some of the kindergarten people.
