Festival of Fitness

All this tumbling, leg splitting, back bending and other very supple movements are surely for the young only. We don't think we could manage any-thing like that to anywhere near the same degree as these youngsters at the Poverty Bay Schools' Gymnastic Festival held in the Y.M.C.A. stadium recently. Their agility is truly amazing.

The girls' senior winners were from the Girls' High School and this team is shown at From left, they are Gaylene Foss, Belinda Spear, Adele Archibald and Carol McKay. They gained 167 points.

Extremely close in second place, in fact as close as you could get, only 1 of a point behind were Lynnette Hovell, Cheryl Rowe, Kim Humphreys and Susan Hacche, the Ilminster Intermediate team.
