Sea Scout Mark Conservation Week

To mark Conservation Week, members of the Kaiti Sea Scout Group (Cubs, Scouts and Venturers) spent the Saturday of Conservation Week cleaning up the whole of Anzac Park, removing rubbish and driftwood and clearing away unsightly undergrowth from the willow trees along the edge of the river. On the Sunday a special tree-planting ceremony was held in the park, where three Idesia polycarpa were planted — you know, the tree that has masses of racemes of red berries on it.
