Hundreds Fill Hall
More than 700 children packed the Central Baptist Church recently for the "Jesus In July" rally.
Guest speaker was the Bible Society organising secretary, Mr Garry Oster, who gave a puppet show with his biblical puppets and also announced the winners of the Bible Text swap it competition.
From left, in front; Gary Jones, 247 Lytton Road, who collected 716 texts to win the competition, and a bicycle! Next is his sister Christine who collected 712 texts and a $40 camera. Third was Bronwyn Campbell, 795 Gladstone Road, and fourth was Janet Lindsay, 97 de Lautour Road. At back are Messrs Ted Dominey, president of the Gisborne Branch of the Bible Society, and Mr Oster.
