The Minister of Education, Mr Brian Talboys, paid a short visit to the district recently. Due to the efforts of the local Member of Parliament, Mrs Esme Tombleson, Mr Talboys also included a visit to the educational centres at Te Karaka, i.e., Waikohu College, Te Karaka Primary School and Te Karaka Play Centre.
