Now living at 5A Waimata Road are Wally Maclennon, his wife Jean and their daughters Tresna and Vicki. The family lived in Lower Hutt before coming to our city where Wally is opening a branch of the New Zealand Building Society.

Peter Barbour, wno was capped last December from Otago University, was accepted as candidate for admission to the Invercargill Supreme Court as a barrister and solicitor by Mr Justice Perry. Peter, who is now practising with Preston, Evans and Noble in Invercargill was proposed by Mr George Howley of Dunedin. He is the son of Mr and Mrs J. Barbour, Wainui Road.

Gisborne's new Fire Chief is Mr K. J. Ever-son, who replaces Mr E. C. Smith who retired last month. Mr Everson has been Fire Chief at Hawera since 1968, and gained the Gisborne position from seven applicants.
