From Whangara To Gisborne City

Champions of the meeting were presented to Mr F. D. Martin, chairman of the High Schools Board, at the end of the day's events.

Pupils from the Whangara School, under the guidance of their teacher, Miss Olive Mihaere (at back), paid a one-day educational visit to the city. The Police Station and Gisborne Mills were visited, as well as the library where books, normally exchanged by the library staff through the bus service, were changed by the children themselves. The children are pictured here during their hour at the library.
