Elegance! Mon Ami

Fifteen girls from the Gisborne School of Elegance gained their diplomas in modelling, make-up and deportment recently. The school is run by Beverley Bodle (make-up) and Regency Chauvel (modelling and deportment). Miss Bodle trained in London at the Christine Shaw Beauty School, while Mrs Chauvel is a Royal Academy ballet teacher. The 10 of the 15 girls who attended the diploma presentation are pictured on this and the next page.

Children of the Apostolic Church Sunday School held a gay Christmas party in the Old Folk's Hall. The true meaning of the occasion did not pass the evening gathering however, and this delightful tableau was the end of a procession through the hall. In this manger scene are, from left, in front, Deana Keelan as Mary, and Caroline and Joy Rangiahua as angels. At back are Jerry Atkins and Marei Collier as two of the wise men, Jacob Keelan as Joseph, and Howard Baker and Wayne Brown as shepherds.
