Save the School!

That is the cry throughout New Zealand as an appeal is under way to raise $300,000 to save the Queen Victoria School for Maori Girls. The school is in danger of being closed if not upgraded. Past pupils and those interested in the Gisborne area gathered at the Ngata (Lorna and Henry) residence in Grant Road recently for morning coffee and a parade of millinery. A substantial amount was raised which will go towards the appeal which finishes this month.
