Golden Tubilee

The Poverty Bay Bowling Club held a three-day open tournament to mark fifty years of bowling for the club. Established in 1920, the club started with their now No. 1 green (on the corner of Ormond Road and Hall Street). In 1926 the adjoining section was purchased and a second green put down. Today the club has floodlighting as well as newly extended club–house premises.
