Ansell–Darby. At the King's College Chapel, Cambridge University, England, Mary-Jane, only daughter of Mr and Mrs K. E. Darby, 20 Hoof Close, Littleport, England, to James Harry, eldest son of Mr and Mrs H. J. Ansell, 119 Chaucer Road, Napier, The attendants are Mary Ladson and Joy King, and the flowergirt is Jane Lumbers. The Ansells were residents of Gisborne for many years before moving to Napier, and flew over to England for the wedding. James Ansell studied at Kings College for three and a half years. He received his Doctorate of Philosophy, and half an hour later was married in the ancient college chapel which is steeped in history. It was founded by Henry VI in 1441. The couple's future home is in Wellington where Dr. Ansell is lecturing at Victoria University.

Hyde–Clare. At the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Lower Hutt, Colleen, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Clare, 45 Bristol Square, Lower Hutt, to Gary, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Stan Hyde, Waipaoa Store, Gisborne. The attendants are Mary Clare, sister of the bride, and Paul Fyfe, both of Lower Hutt. Future home, Auckland.
