Pot Pourri

The Waiteata Scout and Cub group held a very successful open day recently when many parents and friends turned up at Waiteata Park for the afternoon and evening activities. The groups displayed aspects of their crafts and in the evening this was followed by a campfire, cook-out, and then a short service.

The first caretaker of the Waihirere Domain, where he remained for 25 years, was Mr Abbey Smith, who now lives at Hexton. The domain is in an attractive setting and, being only a short run from town, is an ideal place for a family picnic.
