Gym Festival

The Y.M.C.A. stadium was the venue for the combined schools' gymnastic festival where a fairly high standard was maintained throughout the day. At the evening session the programme included demonstration recalls and a short display by Joanne Clarke (a New Zealand rep) and Murray Andersen (a New Zealand trialist), both from Hawkes Bay.

The Riverdale primary teams won every event they entered which was an excellent effort by all concerned.

Jimmy Hall, Henry Hansen, Philip Nikora and Kelvin Harries (head-standing) were first in the A grade boys' section.
