The Name of the Game

Yes! The name of the game is netball. Previously known as basketball, the game now has a new name and also a new outlet in the district in the form of the recently formed Junior Net-ball Association. Girls from standards three and four from 14 primary schools in the Gisbome area are now able to play on Saturday mornings. This enables the girls to get tuition in the' game without being overly worried about competitions. Thirty-five participating teams are divided into gradesA, B and C, and they are helped by 32 referee/coaches who come from parents and teachers. These pics-were taken at the Gisbome Intermediate School courts where play is held every Saturday morning.
