Mrs New Zealand Entrants

Seventeen entrants from the Gisborne area entered for the Mrs New Zealand contest. The contest in being organised by Plunket and the Good Housekeeping Bureau and the finalist from the Gisborne area goes on to Napier where the final for Mrs East Coast will be held. Whoever wins that goes on to the Mrs New Zealand final which will be held in September. Entrants are judged on general knowledge, homemaking qualities and grooming. The ladies got together for morning coffee on June 8 to meet each other and the judges, and to get the contest under way. Absent are Mrs Lillian Stevens, Tolaga Bay, and Mrs Phyllis Rickard, Manutuke.
