This group of likely lads was photographed in 1943 after their training and graduation as Royal Air Force crew at La Chine (near Montreal), Canada. They were all Cisborne boys although Monty Kelling, who brought in the photo, can't recall all their - names. From left, in front: "Fitz" Fitzgibbon, Rod Kirk, Bruce Papworth, Gordon Rennie, unknown. Back row: Unknown, "Robbie" Robinson, -. Woodward, Rangi Te Hau, unknown, Bill De Costa, Monty Kelling, Scott? Monty Kelling is now in the Army and lives at 8 Wood Street, Upper Hutt.

Back to the 1923-24 cycling season we go for this picture taken by Wally Ingram and sent in by A. H. Hart, Port Waikato, and late of Gisborne. These were the Poverty Bay Amateur Cycle Riders who rode Flying Star cycles. From left: Bobbie Stewart, Queensland, Australia, Frank Herbert (Ormond's Motors), Fred Trueman (Air Force), George Duncan (Insurance clerk), G. Hutchins (N.Z. Railways), Charlie Sutcliffe (Collett Motors), Arthur Swan (he wrote the "History of New Zealand Rugby"), Charlie Remnant ("Gisborne Times") and Hori Goldsmith.
