Here And There

Trading for the past 23 years as Holmes Motors Ltd., the company has now been taken over and will trade as Gisborne Motors Ltd. Before 1947 the firm was known as Bignell and Holmes and had served the district since the early days of motoring in Gisborne and on the Coast.

The Girls' Brigade held a three-day display in the library during the school holidays where demonstrations of Maori culture, handcrafts and floral art were given. Mrs M. Swarbrick, Gisborne District Commissioner (centre), Wendy Andrew (left) and Margaret Burr are shown with some of the handcrafts.
