Patience Please

What patience and understanding can do for animals can be seen in the striking difference between the time this dog came to Dave and Maxine Pilkington at Makaraka and now Champion Wardo Bonnie Babe, a Dobermann bitch called .Bonnie for short, is in the right hands as both Dave and Maxine are instructors with the Gisborne Dog Training Club. Bonnie was a nervous wreck through mistreatment before coming to the Pilkington's but she has progressed so much under their care that she now has a companion dog certificate, a high ranking award in obedience work and one that is not easily earned. Bonnie is now in training for her utility dog title, of which there are only about a dozen in New Zealand.

Another Dobermann at the Piikington's is Krefeld's Konrad. He is a companion dog and a utility dog excellent, one of the few dogs in the country with a utility certificate. Here Konrad takes a flying leap over the long jump.
