Married: Baker cooper. At St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Christine Sylvia, daughter of Mr N. L. Cooper, Ngatapa, and Mrs L. V. Cooper, Te Awamutu, to Keith Raymond, son of Mr and Mrs W. A. Baker, 90 Awapuni Road. The attendants are Chris Burke, Auckland, Jean Gordon, Sandra Cooper, (matron of honour), and Beven Gordon (best man). Future home, Gisborne, (Mayfair Studios).

Birthday celebrants for the month of April were photographed at the Old Folk's recent meeting. From left: Mrs Edie Blair, Mrs Annie Hansen, 73, Mr Jock Winning, 82 (cutting the cake), Mrs Margaret Walker, 73, and Mrs Harriet Gilgren. They don't look more than 50, any of them, do they?

Mr Dave Taylor, Mill Road, with the crop he got from a few peanuts he planted "just to see". He harvested 83 nuts which weighed 22 ounces.

This is the year of the feijoa. These fruits from Mrs Joyce King, Stout Street, measure up to 2¾ inches long. Mostly the fruit gets to be 1¾ to two incles long.

Gisborne must be really tropical all over. This banana tree of Ron McKay's in Cobden Street had five well-formed bunches of bananas on it this year. It Just remains to be seen if the weather stays warm enough for the fruit to ripen properly.
