From Mrs A. J. Biggar, Emily-Street. The site on the north corner of Gladstone Road and Derby Street must have some significance as far as food is concerned. At present the John Bull Store operates from these premises, but even before the present building was established an earlier building housed a grocery and provisions store. The business was run then by Mrs Biggar's grandfather, the late Mr John Pollock. The picture was taken about 1880.
