Turanga Lions Club Chartered

The newly formed Turanga (Gisborne) Lions Club held its charter evening at Ulverstone. Cocktails were followed by the official inauguration of the club and the presentation of its charter. The announcement by project committee chairman Athol Hutton that the new Turanga Lions Club would present a new ambulance to the St, John Association was greeted with applause.

A magnificent buffet dinner followed the presentation and, after dinner, dancing and entertainment.
