Hylton Adcroft, son of Mr and Mrs H. Adcroft, 157 Whitaker Street, is in the Irish Guards Band in London. Hylton, who has been away from New Zealand for the past two years, plays a cool cornet under that busby.

The Air Force Association has presented a cup to be awarded to the most improved cadet in the Boys' High School Air Training Corps. Pictured with the new cup are Messrs Keith Tarry (Air Force Association president), Mel Simpson (Boys' High School principal), and John Hampson (Air Force Association secretary).

This combination of wool types, fleece, spinning wheel and shears was displayed in the Bank of New South Wales during Wool Week by Williams and Kettle. It drew much interest and comment.

A cheque for $650 was presented to the LH.C. recently by the Charity Dog Trial Club. The money came from the proceeds of the very successful dog trials run by that club a couple of months ago. LH.C. president Nora Steed accepts the cheque from club president Harry Biggar.

Jaycees spent a recent Saturday dismantling (with some mechanical help) this old building in Stanley Road. Although it was more resistant than at first thought, the attendant Jaycees cleared the area quite smartly.
