A Pictorial Survey by Photo News

In place of our usual monthly issue featuring news and pictures of Gisborne and district, we present for Christmas 1955 a special pictorial number to mark the celebrations of Gisborne's city status. With a few exceptions, dictated by our desire to present the city in its most favourable light, all the pictures reproduced herein have been taken on our cameras within the past few weeks.

We have endeavoured to give as representative a selection of Gisborne's pictorial attractions as would appeal to the natural pride of residents in their city and district, and at the same time interest and intrigue other New Zealanders who have yet to pay us a visit. On this page we have included a Christmas Card form which readers may care to use in conveying best wishes to their friends.
