Our Cover

This rare white hawk makes a spectacular cover for this month's issue of Photo News, and is somehow symbolic of the country's Royal guests who visited our city last Sunday.*

Under the skilful hands of taxidermist Vic Davy the hawk retains its dramatic wing poise, as in life. The white hawk is very rare and not many of the birds have been seen. This one belongs to Gary Raggett, of Dalton Street, a keen shooter, who bagged the bird out in the back country.

* Our special supplement is in the centre of the magazine.

Back Cover–This rural view was taken from the top of Holden's Hill looking over the road which takes one on to Waikereru. If you want to see for yourself just follow your nose along Riverside Road.
